An ambulance takes an injured man to hospital while police and sniffer dogs continue to search the area
Armed police were called in after an incident at a newsagents in Glasgow’s South Side. Early reports are that an armed robbery resulted in a shopkeeper being shot with an air rifle. The area was cordoned off and armed police with sniffer dogs patrolled the area while a police helicopter searched from the sky. The incident is reported to have happened between 3.30 pm and 4pm. The two gunmen, aged between 18-25, opened fire in the shop and made off with a three figure sum after injuring the 58 year old shop owner who was later released from hospital following treatment. Police are appealing to anyone in the Parkneuk Road area of Mansewood, Glasgow who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.
