Hey. This is an interesting list. Maybe you should adjust the headline to “Top 5 funniest Movies Since 2000″ because all of these films are very recent. Not that these films aren’t funny… I loved Anchorman and it is probably one of the funniest films in recent memory. But here’s a few other films I think should be worth considering: Borat, Superbad, Meet the Fockers, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Harold and Kumar, The 40 Year Old Virgin, and this might just be me, but I think Finding Nemo is hilarious.

But if it’s not just since the turn of the millenium, then I feel these films could be on your list: This Is Spinal Tap, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Princess Bride, Annie Hall, Animal House, Groundhog Day, and Clueless.

Those are just some of my suggestions. Everyone’s funny bone gets tickled differently. Let me know what you think.

  2. Hmmm

    Have to disagree

    1. O’ Brother Where Art Thou

    2. The Big Lebowski

    3. Trading Places

    4. The Commitments

    5. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut

  4. Oh, wait, can I take out Trading Places and replace it with Little Miss Sunshine?

    I loved that movie!

  5. Actually, a top 5 is just too difficult, maybe we should do Top 5s for each decade, that would be much easier…

  6. SashaMarie says:

Go rent, or even just buy, Wet Hot American Summer. Hands down, THE funniest movie I have ever seen. I literally have seen it AT LEAST 100 times, and I still crack up :)

  7. Dark Raven says:

    You forgot Limmys comedy -
    soon on telly folks.

  8. alannaonline says:

Mark that is a brilliant idea btw. Lets do that, what decade to start from though because some really class comedy from the 50′s and 60′s (Some Like It Hot) etc….

Sasha, i have literally never heard of Wet Hot American Summer. Is it a porn movie? come on admit it! ill look it up. meanwhile, any suggestions yourself?

Dark Raven, oh aye…. everybody don’t forget Limmy! He’ll be on telly at some point!

Mark…i bow down to your movie knowledge. I thought I was good but to just pull all them and list them is something else so commendations for that.

im in shame, i put up a lazy effort of five movies…. ill put up the revised list.

  11. I blame it on a misspent youth, and the fact that my student flat was round the corner from a video rental…

  12. alannaonline says:

hahaha, what excuse have I got then?. I have one of those minds and i love movies. what uni did you go to?
